From the age of 9, Stephen has won multiple State and National Piano Competitions. At the age of 14, he began attending college. Trained through the Associate Board of the Royal Academy of Music, at the age of 16 he went on to win the Barbra Micale Scholarship at Onondaga Community College.
After graduating with honors in Piano Performance, he attended University of Rochester to study Music Composition while also attending classes at Eastman School of Music, furthering his skill in Orchestration, Computer Music, and Music Composition. In addition to his coursework, he studied Emergency Medicine and volunteered at ambulances.
After graduating, Stephen interned at Hans Zimmer’s Remote Control Production studio and went on to work for Henry Jackman on films such as Puss In Boots and X-Men: First Class.
Before entering graduate school at Rochester Institute of Technology for Film and Animation, Stephen worked as a freelance photojournalist covering stories across the US.
While in graduate school, Stephen’s film Syncretic Noise was accepted in festivals around the world, winning awards such as Best Dance Film, Best Editing, Best Sound Design, and Best Experimental film. It was also nominated for New Filmmakers LA Best New Media of 2016 award.
He has since launched Between The Notes Production, LLC and has provided film production services on a variety of award-winning documentaries, animations, and short films ranging from sound design, cinematography, editing, and film scoring. Work has been featured in film festivals around the world as well as Vimeo Staff Picks and The Creators Projects.
